As our bandmates hobble back from New Orleans from a weekend celebrating Mardi Gras, here’s the quick rundown on this weekend’s events:

Friday-Feb 23rd, 2012-BRENDYN’S SPORTS BAR- 15 Railroad Ave. Middletown, NY
NUTS returns to Brendyn’s Sports Bar. A great bar in the heart of Middletown. Located inside of Quinnz Pinz (the old Middletown Lanes)and newly renovated Brendyn’s is one of the newest bars in the area. We played the Grand Opening there a year ago and it was a blast. We had a Conga line 30 people deep and snaking through the bowling alley. And they have food! Bowling, Beer and Blender! It’s a trifecta! Come on out and try someplace new! Show starts at 10pm~!

Saturday-Feb 24th, 2012-E-Bar @ SCHLESINGERS- 275 Temple Hill Rd, New Windsor, NY
Who has the classiest joint on the west side of the Hudson… one name, Neal Schlesinger. Hands down this room is always an event. Although most admit the outdoor beach is the main attraction we’ll argue that some of our best shows have been indoors, on stage in the E-bar. Maybe it’s the relaxed atmosphere. Maybe it’s the class and style. In either case it’s an excellent excuse to stay classy Hudson Valley… and come see our show. Show starts at 10pm

Ahhhh… wine, roses, chocolates… a banana hammock made of candy. These are things we’ve come to expect on Valentine’s Day. Well, here’s our Valentine to all of you… a short spoof on the TV show ‘Cheaters’ starring the Best Known Celebrity in the Hudson Valley… Zippy. This is what happens when you have way too much time on your hands while packing up. Enjoy!

Are you ready to Mardi your Gras off? This weekend is hands down one of the best weekends on NUTS’s yearly schedule. And we know this from experience. We’ve been playing this show for 8 years!

First Friday night starts with a bang at Billy Joe’s. This is one of our best venues in the Hudson Valley and every show there has been a blast. Just check previous video and pictures. We had some of our best shows in 2011 at BJ’s. Ribs and NUTS… two great tastes that belong together.

Saturday night is our Annual Mardi Gras party. This is a no holds bar visit to Bourbon St. complete with Mardi Gras beads, masks and Hurricane shots. We have some incredible video from year’s past. This Saturday NUTS & Co. are returning to our favorite venue due north. We’ve been playing the Bayou since 2006 and it is seriously one of the best rooms in the northeast. This room is always jamming with good people and some of the best bartenders in NY state. It’s true… we’ve heard they’ve even served some state senators and assemblymen. If you are in driving distance to downtown Albany this is not a show to miss. The Bayou is located at 79 N. Pearl St. Albany, NY. We also recommend if you feel like staying over, The Hampton In offers excellent accomodations mere yards away. Oh many a night we stumble in at 4am to a comfy, cushy bed.

Git NUTS Wit US!

Winter sminter! Our first snowfall of the season (not counting that 1 foot pounding we got Halloween weekend) is a reminder that winter is finally here one month late. That makes playing the 1 Year Anniversary party at Billy Joe’s this Friday all the more welcome. Just one year ago we helped to pop the cap off one of the biggest live venues in the area… and every show we’ve had since then has been a muthaload. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. So we’re calling all NUTS out to the Newburgh Waterfront this Friday to party like Hell hath frozen over! Ribs and Nuts… Two Tastes that belong together.

Saturday we round things up with the best live music venue in the history of Middletown… and that includes the the Iroquois Indian tent on 1638 and the Grand Dance Hall that closed in 1892. The Empty Bottle is like no other… big, full of liquid and ready to party. Now that’s what America is all about! Come out this Saturday and bookend your weekend with NUTS!
